The MountainGuard Insurance Program is proud to announce that Tim Bruce has joined the team as a Claims Specialist. His duties will include providing claims and loss control services to MountainGuard clients primarily in the Eastern United States and Canada. Tim will be based in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire office.

Tim joins MountainGuard after working for 20 years at Sunday River in Maine. Tim started his career in the ski industry as a patroller at Sunday River and quickly rose through the ranks to become the Patrol Director. As patrol director he was responsible for hiring and training patrol staff, conducting and reviewing incident investigations, developing and implementing both guest and staff safety programs as well as managing all day to day patrol functions. Thereafter, Tim was elevated to Risk and Safety Manager for Sunday River initially and then Sugarloaf USA following the acquisition of those two resorts by Boyne. As the risk and safety manager, Tim?s responsibilities expanded to include management and oversight of all workers? compensation and guest claims. Tim is certified by the National Ski Patrol and the Professional Ski Patrollers Association. He has wilderness first responder and outdoor emergency care certifications as well. He is a graduate of Springfield College, Springfield, Massachusetts.

In the off season, Tim is a competitive road and mountain cyclist and triathelete. He has competed in the Hawaiian Ironman Triathalon in 2008, the Leadville Trail 100, Lake Placid Triathalon and the Trek Across Maine as well as many other local and regional events.
